When you get an oil change for your car, can you choose the type of oil they use?

Question:
or do they just use generic what-ever ****

Answers:

I need interior parts for my 17 nova??

That depends on the place that you get it done at, most places use Pennzoil and they will put a different product in for you but you have to bring the different oil with you because most places don't keep all of the oil brands in stock. But if you bring it with you I am sure they will be happy to service your car for you.

'Gearbox faulty' warning in Peugeot 307.?

When you see an advertised special, they are using a particular bulk oil, usually a name brand but since it's in a barrel it costs them less, so they can offer the "special". Most garages will allow you to use an of the shelf oil if they carry them at an additional cost of course to you,
