Question:
Ok guys,
I am looking to buy new headlights for my car, since the original manufacturers headlights have a lick and let the moisture in. It will stick in there and they don't come out.
Since, I have decided that I am going to get a new pair of headlights, I started doing my research on them for while now. I went to the dealer and they asked 150 dollars for each of the headlights plus the installation fee... although I could install it myself.
However, while accidently, looking around eBay, I found that I could purchase these cool looking headlights, for a half of the price. They have all of those fancy Halo lamps and they are the color I want.
But, I don't know if the product that I am thinking about purchasin is going to last me. Basically saying, I would like to see if they are not going to give out on me on the highway, or if they are not going to let any moisture in. SInce they are like twice cheaper than the factory editions, does that mean that they have lower quality?

anything that is not an OEM part will fail sooner, not fit as well, etc. aftermarket is aftermarket. When your spark plugs go bad how does it effect your car?
since you said you can do the replacement yourself. cheap fix and to keep the originals. if you can remove the actual bulb, remove it and use an air gun to blow the water out. you can also drill a few tiny holes in the bottom to allow the water to drain. once all dried out, use some clear silicone sealer and patch the holes and put a bead around the seam of clear to black as this is where water enters. you can do all this in a few hours and for about $5 and keep the original OEM lamps.

I do this all the time for dealerships and this is how many mechanics fix watered headlights as well if they are not replacing the unit for warranty issues.

Basically the first thing you need to do is check with your local law enforcement and find out if they are illegal in your state. Some states wont allow you to pass inspection with colored headlamps. Second....you should stick with OEM labled aftermarket parts. OEM is the best way to go.More Questions & Answers ...
