Sounds like a bad injector. If it was a sensor, it might run a bit rich, but not that much. Pull the plugs and check them to see which cylinder is doing it. The plug will be soot black. If you are seeing that much smoke, gas is probably getting into your oil.1995 ford tauras, the ABS light turns on and the brake seems to get hard?
I am surprised the check engine light is not on. If it is, there is a way to read codes. Find a chevy truck forum on the web and get more info on hoe to read them.
The air fuel mixture is controled by computor.It sounds like a plugged exhaust,loose throttle linkage,and possible fuel pressure regulator return line to gas tank could be restricted or blocked.Check and repair all vacuum lines that show signs of cracking(this is very important)Fix vacuum lines first.

I would take it to Auto Zone and have it Diagnosed for free and find out exactly whats wrong. There are to many possibilities to try and out guess your on board Computer. I would pull the plugs and see whats happening if not able to get it Diagnosed. Good LuckGear shift stuck on my '94 Ford....?
You say the exhaust is black but is it blowing black smoke? if so then check the vacuum fitting onto the fuel pressure relief valve, a faulty earth or earth not connected could cause the same problems.More Questions & Answers ...
