I have a 1996 jeep cherokee with the 4.0 it keeps cutting back like its a fuel problem?

i have changed the filter but it didnt help seems like it has gotten worse since temp outside has increased it will get so bad it dies then as soon as i start it back it will run ok for a mile or two then start doing it again until it dies think its the fuel pump?

check the coil, sounds like it is shorting and getting hot ( you will have to test with an l.e.d test light to see if there is power to it ) when the coil gets hot it creates resistance and doesn't allow the enegry to go to the plugs, when it cools down it has less resistance
