My car door won't unlock?

Question:
It's not frozen. and i can't even move the lock thinger over from the inside...what's the deal and how much will it cost to get it fixed? it's a grand am

Answers:

tune up on your car if it's old?

Sounds like the latch is jammed. This could get fairly costly because it's hard to take the inside door panel off with the door closed and it may get damaged. I also have had a couple of times i have had to cut the old latch apart in order to get the door open. If you are lucky you could get it fixed for around $100.00 or if it becomes the worst case it might be $500.00
