Answers:
where is the sump plug located on a P reg vauxhall astra estate?
An AOD-E is an older 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that many rear wheel drive Ford vehicles are equipped with. The AOD-E evolved into the 4R70W in and around 1995. The gear selections should be as follows: P-R-N-o/d-2-1, with an overdrive cancel switch. This particular transmission has improved enough over the years that it no longer "hunts" in and out of overdrive in town, like the older model transmissions used to. Therefore, driving around town in the overdrive range should not hurt it any.Do car alarms waste battery and or the alternator on older cars.?
Shouldn't hurt it at all. Normally your trans won't shift into o/d until you reach a certain speed. So if you never reach that speed it will just go to drive. How to use greaser for refuel the car?
That's what I use & haven't been told different by my husband.i have a 2002 pontiac grand am 4 cyl?
i own a repair shop, and if you do a lot of stop and go driving it isn't good for it to drive it there a lot,,ts always recommended you don't use o/d in town, use [d] for in town its better for the transmission ,good luck hope this help,s.,have a good x-mas.how do i change a master cylinder on a 1995 dodge intrepid myself?
If the car shifts up and down every time you touch or let up on the gas or if it goes into overdrive at too low of a speed then I would use drive. If not then your transmission would be better off in overdrive. Some vehicles shift at a higher speed than normal when in drive which uses more gas and causes the engine to sustain higher RPM's than normal.I'm looking for the toolbox that goes on the passenger side of the bed for a 71 ford f250?
If you are going at the speed that your trans. shifts to OD then back to D then back to OD you get the picture. And even then probably won't hurt anything.i use overdrive in town.in fact my owners manuel tell me i should use it the most of the time, because the tranny will decide which gear it needs to be in.ive been using it now for about 4 yrs. now and it doenst hurt anything.now it tells me not to use o/d in the snow covered roads.
If car is over 100k miles, could this be a problem?
A lot of debate over this as this is not the first (or last) time I have had this dicussion. How many miles (approx) can you do on set on new quality brand car tyres ?
Most OEM's recommend just leaving it in over drive and let the tranny decide. As a mechanic I dont think this is the best answer since driving conditions change from town to town.
Heat doesnt get very warm..either does the car?
The best way to determine which you should use would be to simple pay attention to the engine. If you notice frequent engagement/disengagement of overdrive I suggest using drive instead (I personally use drive in city setting where I will be stopping/starting a lot) to save on wear and tear on the tranny since the clutches will be working more than they need to. I do not know what kind of life extension you will get out of the tranny by doing this but even if it is a few miles it might be the difference between being stranded on the highway or driving into your local mechanics business.
