Some tips for performance on my 2 stroke engine please?

Question:
Hi,

How can i get the troubles codes out of a 1998 satuen sl2 by using the key?

I have a 70cc 2 stroke engine, and I was just wondering if any one could come up with other performance modifications that will help the engine run better, and take off stronger and faster?

What do I need to for my car to pass Inspection?

I have taken the baffle out of the exhaust pipe and cut it down to about 3 1/2 inches from the end of the pipe. The instructions also say that after break in, switch fuel to oil ratio from 20:1 to 25:1. Will have less oil and more gas mixture make the engine stronger?

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

What should I do regarding my Ford Taurus!?

You need some back pressure to have the 2 stroke work efficiently. I would focus on improving the intake, larger for more air. The fuel ratio is only for air pollution. with this small of an engine you can not expect much, you really need more cc's.

Question about hybrids?

Honestly it depends on what kind of two cycle it is. Im guessing its some sort of pocket bike right? Most of these engines are cheap engines and Im 99.9% sure this engine is some mass produced chinese engine. There really isnt much in the way of performance increasers.

Depending on the style of engine, removing that baffle could actually reduce your horsepower. Piston Port style two cycle engines rely on a certain amount of back pressure to keep a fresh charge of fuel in the combustion chamber, because they have no valves. If it was a reed valve style, then the effect should be neutral.

Changing the oil ratio will not really make much of a horsepower difference, at least not in that engine. They tell you to reduce it because of emissions standards in the USA. When you get into custom built race motors, oil mixture and compression ratios sort of go hand in hand. Your best bet for power would be to remove the carb and enlarge the inlet to allow more air through, but again, you can only enlarge it a minimal amount because the butterfly still needs to close.

Reduce oil consumption?

You can also consider changing your fuel, possibly adding some of the methanol mixture for RC cars in with the gas, but you really need to be careful because you can lean the engine out too much and stick the piston or cause detonation. I would NOT recommend doing this, especially on a regular engine.

Due to the fact that you have modified the exhaust system I assume you know more about 2 stroke engines than the manufacture does.
