Question:
kay is it possible to change a fwd car to a rwd car?
and how much woud it cost?
fwd=four wheel drive
rwd=rear wheel drive
Answers:
What type of vehicle is it? Is the engine transversally mounted?
Why does my car idle high after coming to a stop?
If the engine is transversally mounted you're only option is for front wheel drive, or stay with 4wd. if your engine is forward facing, then its not as hard to switch to rwd. Either way, to do the job properly, depending on the vehicle, you'll have to replace the transmission with one designed for rwd, you'll probably have to change the drive shaft, and you're going to have to rework the front suspention and componants, depending on the setup. if its transversally mounted, then you're stuck with 4wd/awd or front wheel drive(fwd). That is using stock parts. If you go all out and go full customing, anything is possible. Like the 302 or 351W i'm planning on dropping into my Ranger.
Why do i get a bad gas odor when i shut my older truck engine off?
Anything is posible when you learn to accept the fact that it will cost what it costs.FWD= Front wheel drive
4WD= Four wheel drive.
Why do my car's brakes go out when I'm making sharp left turns?
For what you are describing, most trucks have a lever or button that will do the job. If you are talking about a car you are better off to buy the car you want, and sell your car to someone who knows to appreciate it's superior design.
I have a 318 v8 in a 95 caravan with an auto trans. I had all the major parts and I can`t tell you how much it all cost because I did it in my own shop. A lot depends on your choice of vehicles/drive train/working area. and what you are trying to achieve. I just like dusting mustangs. This is my second one, the first was a 440 with a 5 speed mid engine. 10.3 in the quarter
