this might go right over your head but on most newer cars they use a electronc throttle, so when the ecu (on board computer) see's that your going at a steady speed or "crusing" if will compensate by making it where if you put the pedal to he floor it dosnt have the same response as normal, so if your going a constant speed and try to pass a car or something it might just be your computer slowing it down, a good way to make that stop happening is to just tap your gas pedal a few times befor trying to accelerate hard,
