Actually heat is what kills the car battery, and the heat in the warmer months keeps the engine warm and easier to start.During the winter months the oil gets thicker and causes the battery to work harder, the battery may have been on its last leg in the summer when the heat was bad,and now that it's winter the car needs more power to start but it wont cause the heat zapped the battery in the summer.
