I have a 91 Chevy suburban with a problem with the emergency brake cable, it's dangling under the truck.?

Question:
I have a 91 Chevy Suburban 1/2 ton 4x4 automatic transmission. My son hit a dog (pitbull) after another car did first. It hit under the truck from front to back causing the emergency brake cable to dangle and we can't seem to see how it was connected. Are there clips or clamps, tacked? I worry it will catch on something so we aren't driving it.Please any help is appreciated.

Answers:

White Smoke from Exhaust?

The cable(s) are in two sections, front and rear. The connection point between the two does have a capture clip, and can be lost in the event they become separated.
If you are not familiar with the arrangement, then your options are two - - -
1) Tie it up with a coat-hanger or a rag or electrical or duct tape and drive to your repair shop or dealer.
2) Purchase a quality repair manual and note the arrangement and required parts in the illustration. Purchase what you can't locate that is in the illustration. The parts you need are not all that expensive, but certainly necessary.
You can buy what you need at the dealer or a wrecking yard. The chances of a parts store stocking such an item is pretty slim.
