There is no warning lights on and i wondered if a normal service will put this right. I play me music loud, would this drain the power to my engine? I once replaced an exhaust valve about 9 months ago,is this the same problem. Obviously i will check my sparkplugs or even just replace them. Any ideas?

No! Power is not drained from the engine unless your alternator is fautly. Only power assisted items like air conditioners, brakes, steering & so on will use engine power!

hi my wife had a similar problem with a 51 plate corsa it turned out to be a problem with the cars brain not always receiving what the electronic throttle was telling it .something called a dry joint the car used to cut out mid way out of junctions when you least expected it to nearly killed us more than once my advise would be to take it back to the main dealer and ask them to put your car though a diagnostic computer because it only gets worst.

the loud music does not have anything to do with power from your ingine. it has its own independent power supply. this sounds like a fuel or electrical problem. when was the last time you tuned up your car?. if you have not check your spark plugss, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, change your pcv valve, fuel filter, air filter, and engine oil and oil filter. make sure your fuel lines and injectors are not clogged that can be a major problem if no fuel reaches the cylinders. after all this is done you should be good.I need to know how to discharge my a/c system to do work on it.?
check your fuel system and eletrical system first if you have already tuned up your car.

I had exact same problem with same model and year car. YOU CAN NOT FIX IT. My car repeatled stalled for no reason other than it was a bag of ****. it only had 43 K on it. I took it ot vaux lots of times. who each time put it on the engine management machine and said .. sorri. we didnt find the fauld please pay £100+VAT. I tried many other garage who HAD NO IDEA. changed many parts. didnt fix it. It is a manufacturers fault that they dont want to admit to as it would mean recalling all of their cars of that model. put it through the auction if you can drive it that far.had same trouble on our calibra turned out to be the crank sensor usual Vauxhall problem seems when looked into it.Have to get diag done to find out that cost me about £15 for the diag.

I have a 1999 1.4 Astra. I bought it off an old guy who only put 20,000 on the clock and barely put his foot on the gas. After I had it for a while I realised the acceleration was really poor and it kicked in and out all the time and was really stuttery. For years the car had obviously been just sitting in this guys garage. And fuel consumption seemed poor.How often should you change the oil in your car?
It ended up needing a new Coil Pack and has been fine since. The coil pack is basically the ignition system that sits on top of the spark plugs. Certainly sounds like a similar problem.

Did you install a new stereo head unit? or do you just use the standar Vauxhaull stereo, because iv'e had serious problems with my electrics and I think it's because i've installed my own stereo which had maybe unbalanced the electrics.
