How do I get the alternator out of a 1988 Mercury Tracer?

Question:
I have removed the alternator from the mountinjg points in my Merc Tracer and have discovered that the top support bracket and a/c line prevent me from removing it upward and the drive shaft and engine or chassis stop me from below. Has anyone out there tackled this task and if so, which way did you go to get the old one out and the new one in?

Remove the top support bracket and,if move the A'C line out of the way.Gently.Usually it's just a matter of twisting the piece in the right direction to remove it.
