Subaru Transmission Problem?

Question:
My 1992 Subaru SVX stalls when it's placed in reverse. Before this started happening, I noticed that it was hesitating in the low to mid rmps. I thought it was a dirty fuel injector or something like that but now I'm thinking it might be related to the transmission problem. What could be causing this?

it doesnt sound like tranny problems.it sounds more like fuel problems.check the gas filter.
