I agree with Boogaloo in part - never accept the first offer an insurance company makes. What happens if my head gasket goes?
Have a look around and get a price, preferably from a garage, for a similar car in both condition, mileage and registration.

Don't let them fob you off.
You poor thing. However, if you loved that car, you could get a newer Polo and it might be better... I drive a Polo GTI LOVE IT. Bummer but you will have to spend pennies on a new one but do enjoy it.

should there be resistance checking battery cables on jeep?
just buy another one. :- )
I am in the US and the laws are obviously different but it seems to me that you have the ability to press the issue if you have a receipt for the 1850.
I would suggest that you not accept the insurance companys offer at this time until you do some checking. (Once you take the money you pretty much buy into their deal).
meantime cheer up.. you can borrow my car (of course its here in California with me...)

I had the same problems I had a Ford Focus that was wrote off!the insurance crewed me out of £2000. So hopefully that will make you feel better but if i was you i would hold out on taking the money and tell them its not enough say that you want the car fixing, or more money they tend to come back with another offer usually a little bit more than the first and can sometimes be worth the wait.
does anybody know anything basic about eletronics?
I am so sorry you have had this accident. It is difficult when you did nothing wrong and still have to suffer the consequences. My father always said "live is unfair, not how are you going to adjust". I have a friend that was waiting in her car to pick up her boyfriend when a drunk driver crashed into her. Both her legs were amputated (now has artificial legs) and her left arm is almost useless. Yet she enjoys a second chance to love, have children, and live. Sounds like you are really doing terrific, and this will eventually pass as an old memory! Have a wonderful day!1997 Chevy Lumina Service Engine Soo Light is on. my wiper motor is faulty as i have changed wipers ..?
go back to the insurance company and say you aren't willing to accept £1500. Most places never expect you to take their first offer. you could always phone your local church and ask to hold a memorial service so that you can say goodbyeOk - first things first. Put a claim in for wiplash and get to a doctor to get it verified ASAP. Even very mild claims will net you from £300-£1000 and if the other person is at fault then you're quite likely to get some compensation for it. You may very well end up with more than you paid for the car, so you can buy something nicer.
I heard air going trough the fuel cap... is that normal?
Also - cheer up. It hurts to lose your first car especially if you saved up for it and everything. But at least you've got fully comp. insurance so you'll get most of your money back even if your wiplash claim doesn't succeed!
One final thing - if you're getting another Polo, get a 1.9TDi. they're a right giggle!
Why do i all of a sudden get low MPG?

Depending on the damage you could actually buy it back from the insurance and repair it yourself with second hand parts for a fraction of the cost of insurance repair.
Manual transmission... my Audi is having trouble shifting even into first gear...?
Insurance company will offer it to you for about 10% of its value- say £150. Might be able to repair for £800 and you've got your car back and £550 in your pocket.
You can refuse this offer your insurance gets the money from his insurance so ask for more money. If you have any receipts for anything that you've spent on the car these can often be added in to the offer. If this was a no fault accident you should be able to get a free hire car too, check your policy.
