Car temperature guage keeps leaning to hot but doesnt overheat?
remove all of them.and reinstall them, one run the engine, then the other then run the engine and so forward ,until You hear the noise again
THAT IS THE CULPRIT!
Does anyone know how to get the smell of gasoline off your hands?
put a new belt on it, sounds like it is glazed up.I own a 92 nissan maxima, that refuses to run. does anyone know what color it is?
quit buying jap crap. buy american problem solvedDoes installing a aftermarket exhaust system void the warranty on my car?
Probably the only other thing would be to replace it. A lot of times belts will squek a while before they break.should we sell the car for parts?
If you have tightened your belts properly & you still have noise I would suspect an idler or tensioner pully bearing starting to go bad. You need to remove the belts & spin those pulleys to hear if they are making noiseyou,ll probably have to replace it,usually they can be tightened once or twice, then you have to replace them, its just normal wear and tear,if that's all you have wrong with it your doing good, hope this help,s.good luck with it.
What is a water pump on a car?
I agree, the belt is glazed and needs to be replaced. Why does my handbrake light stay on even when the handbrake is down.?
Go to your local auto parts store and ask for something called belt dressing... you simply spray this on your belts and the squeal will end !the back door latch on my 95 yukon is not working. I took the panel off and found the problem.?
liquid wrench or wd40 .helps for a few minutes but a bit messy better off replacing themI just finishing putting brake pads on front of 2003 Caravan why this little cliking noise?
Go to any parts supply and get some belt dressing. It will not cure the problem forever, as the belt is probably glazed but it will quiten it for a bit.i hooked up an OBD II reader to my car but it won't read anything...what's the problem?
Belt Dressing - they'll know.
you have 1 sepertine belt and maybe anothe only one?how old is the belt??cracks on the edges? real shiney on the out side of belt?? cracks on and in the groves?? if so id change the belt out if it is new your tenshiner may be giving out. for a fast fix take some wd40 and give it a spray on the inside where the groves are as the engine is running a continues spray for a full revolution or two that will shut it up but if it is worn get it off and change it out and dont use that trick all the time but it will quiet it down for now and it may just clean it enough where it wont happen again
What is a supercharger and what does it do for your car?
The V belt usually from crankshaft to altenator - sometimes the one to the power steering pump. They got to be pretty darn tight. If the sound does not dissappear you can get some spray to spray on the belt to cut down on the "glazing" on the belt - and that may shut it up. Otherwise replace the belt...and make sure this one is on tight. The glazing is caused by slipping and vibrational movement(as the belt moves up and down. Not sure which one. Get some water and pour a shot on the one belt while the car is running to see if the noise stops temporarily. Then try the other.
Simply spray a Magnum dose of silicone spray on your belts. I am concerned that the belts squeal on such a new truck. If I were you, I'd remove all the belts to be sure the alternator bearings are OK as well as the powersteering pump, ac compressor, and water pump.
Could anything cause oil cap to be blown off besides it not being screwed on tight enough?
The belt(s) work on friction the less friction the more slippage. WD40 is oil and therefore reduces friction. A lack of friction causes it to squeak more. Most all auto parts stores as well as Wally Mart, K mart and others sell "belt dressing". I don't know of any particular brand. If you have multiple belts, spray them one at a time to determine which one is squeeking and when you have time replace it, You should replace belts at least one a year anyway. Good luck.More Questions & Answers ...
