Question:
Its an automatic '02 infiniti g20 with 94000 miles. It sounds like a chipmonk is living under my hood. It doesnt make the noise when i accelerate, only when i LIGHTLY touch the brakes or when i am coasting-it becomes VERY loud going down hills especially over about 40. My dad thinks its bad brakes, but the noise STOPS when i apply the brakes going down hills. Is this safe to drive? What could it be?

There are a lot of things that make clicking/clunking noises in this fashion. It could be anything to a CV joint starting to fail, a wheel bearing, and yes even the brakes. It's kind of hard to tell since no one here can actually look at the car. I assume you won't be fixing it yourself so take it to an Infinity Dealer and have them check it out. If you start guessing your likely to spend more money than just having them find the issue. Car can be like computers. Sometimes it's just better the let the Pros do it if you don't have the knowledge to do it yourself, even though it sometimes hurts the pocketbook. Look at this way, if your HDD fails your may lose some data. If your brakes or suspension fails you could be killed.car problem 2000 plus no brakes help?
