I put my oil in where my dipstick goes instead of the oil reservoir - how bad is this?

Is it engine oil or transmission fluid? The 2 cooling tubes that screw into the side of the radiator are for cooling tranny fluid. If they were not secured properly or kinked during service, they may leak. If you are losing engine oil, you probably have a coincidental, yet not radiator related problem.

Can you spray W-D 40 on a car to stop the squeeking?

you probably are leaking oil at the oil cooler pipes where they thread on to the radiator to the left side tank. check for a missing/damaged o ring seal on the pipe where it threads on.

you didn't say what kind of oil it was leaking but 9 times out of 10 you didn't get the transmission lines that go to the radiator tight.
