Firebird Hatch Lighting Question...?

Question:
I want to install a light in my 1987 Firebird that comes on when I open the hatch. There is a strike plate on the rear panel that feels for the piece on the hatch and tells the motor to stop pulling. Is there some way to connect into that plate to wire in a light? There are two wires that connect to the plate - a yellow and what looks like grey or black.

How do i turn off the service engine soon lite on my 99 oldsmobile Alero ,it runs fine but lite wont go out?

your best bet would be to go to the pontiac dealer and talk to the parts man and see what you need to install the light as this was an option in 87 and he can show you the pic of it and where it was mounted and I'm sure the wiring is in your trunk for the light someplace as GM used only one wiring harness back then for all the firebirds and if it didn't get the option the wire was still there just tucked away someplace.
