I own a 98 Taurus, I recently changed the thermostat on it and a couple of hoses but lately it has been acting up. It will completely turn off when it warms up usually when I come to a complete stop. and wont turn on until it cools down below normal. any advise?

it sounds like a bad ignition control module to me. that's what they do when they go bad. carry some water in an old windshield washer jug and next time it shuts off pour the water over the module. if the car starts right up it was bad. good luck!how much do you pay for a car wash and how often do you get it washed?
I do believe it is called a "Temperature Control Sensor" Do you know how to access your OBC "On Board Computer"? That car should have one of those little diagnostic boxes under the dash, somewhere close, under the steering wheen.1990 honda accord won't start?
It happens to my 94 Chevrolet Suburban, too! I took it to an auto mechanic shop and they told me that the engine needs to be repaired or replaced. The head gasket is possibly blown. Otherwise, I paid new radiators twice, replaced theromsats 3 times, new water pump, new upper and lower radiator hoses. Still have the problem! The water temp shows normal. Strange.
