There are 2 possible answers. One is that you are dealing with a cheap shop that needs to pad the books or has unqualified service personnel. They are rare, but they exist. Everyone does, but they probably arn't. I work in a garage, and the only time we want to see people back are for maintance, and for things that need to be retorqued after a certin amount of driving. A good mechanic will know of ways to keep the customer coming back for problems without doing anything to the car that can be damaging. A good mechanic will keep the customer happy. sometimes they slip up and mess up but they don't really do on purpose and they could lose their job for doing a bad job on purposeits called be worried , look i n the yellow pages for a listed gargages , ask friends that have had work perfromed there , most guys are good at what they do , you get what you pay for really .

Because they know it's good business practice to intentionally create problems with peoples cars and that they'll stay in business forever by doing that.Seriously if you feel that way try another shop. If you have then maybe you have a problematic car that requires a lot of attention, or it may be that you feel that way about all auto repair shops.

Yeah, people don't really do that because it doesn't really work. I'm a service writer and I have enough problems with people getting mad at me for their cars needing legitimate repairs, I don't even want to deal with anything more than that.

No one is perfect, mistakes do happen, BUT, if you continue to experience this type of problem you should....(1), speak with the owner/manager and explain the reasons for your apprehension, they should(if they run an ethical shop) do something positive to alleviate your concerns. (2), if they do not,report them to the B.B.B. and then find another repair shop. I have performed services for no charge rather than lose a customer. (I realize that I, nor anyone else can satisfy every customer that walks into my shop,so sometimes a little customer appeasement is called for).
