My husband is a mechanic and he said sounds like your EGR valve. I know mine is bad in my minivan but all it does is helps with gas mileage. My minivan does the same thing sometimes the light is on and others it is not. you can also take it to Auto Zone or O'reilly auto parts or an auto part store near you and they can hook it up to a scanner while the light is on and tell you what it is. There should not be a charge for that service. My charge today is some points to get me to next level LOL!!!There is a problem (fault) while driving. Possibly an EGR valve issue? Make a trip to a dealership/repair shop and have them get the code(s) from the computer. Good luck.

Take your car to a mechanic and they will figure it out for you.
oil and water before you get an over haul need and fast, then go get a check up on it I thank checkers would be your best bet, if you have one close by you. Why pay maintenance when they can tell you what it needs and do it your self.
most of the time a diagnostic test will reveal that one of your CO2 sensors is having a problem, most places that change oil, will be this test for free, auto parts stores too. if it's the sensor, it's not an immediate emergency... but of course, my father, who was a mechanic his whole life would say, that check engine lights where created to get folks to take their cars to the dealership for repairs, it's a racket, of sorts, good luck!
A/C Compressor shuts off during hard acceleration in 2007 Honda Civic EX?
It's an emission problem. Check the gas cap, it also may be a loose sensor. If it drives well and the fuel economy is good it should be okay. Get it scanned whenever and you can do it at an autozone for free if you live in the US.How can I find the oil capacity for my car? I don't have the manual.?
There are many components that work together in the engine to maintain optimal engine performance and economy.A service engine soon, or check engine light indicates that there is a sensor that is reading a condition that is "out of range".
Simply resetting the light does not solve the initial cause of the problem.
Replacing a number of parts trying to troubleshoot the problem in the hopes of getting the light to stay off is a tremendous waste of time and money.
The simplest, and most economical way to alleviate your issue, is to have the computer codes checked by a reputable shop to determine what caused the computer to signal you to begin with.
Should I add coolant to the engine coolant reservoir?
That being said, if per-chance you feel the need to reset the light in the hopes that it was a "glitch" of some kind, you could disconnect the negative battery terminal for a couple of minutes to clear the check engine light.
