My car was hit by a stone and it starts to crack like hairline for about 1 to 2 inches. Can anyone tell me if there is any chemicals in the market that i can buy to seal it and restore the surface?. Car Winscreen repair shop told me it does not help much. Anyone experience this and can help to suggest how and where to fix it?

depending on the severity of the crack, most are covered by your insurance policy if you have one,there is windshield repair where they inject a filler into the crack and heat it with a type of iron and many times you can never tell there was a crack there

The windscreen repair kits take the obvious out of the star impact point. It is not as white and noticeable as it once was. But it cannot do anything for hairline cracks. They are still just as obvious.Yes there is.
The hairline you can see in the windscreen is the air in the crack.
The repair kit pulls the air out and replace it with an adhesive that fills the crack and makes it almost invisible. (and prevents further cracking)
You can either buy the repair kit at a parts store or get it repaired for 30-50 dlls.
