Does this estimate sound reasonable for these car repairs?

Question:
We went to get our car inspected ('97 Infinity, was banged up in an very, very minor accident last year, post-inspection) and were quoted a price of $950 for repairs to the front right axle, a pump in the same general area, and the high beams. We hadn't noticed anything wrong with the car, but the axle was broken, the pump was dripping, and the high beams don't work (we don't drive at night)... clearly, these repairs are necessary, but since we're new to car ownership, I want to know if this sounds like a reasonable amount for these repairs, or if we're getting ripped off. The service station seems clean and reputable, and we're in NYC, but just need to know if we're being taken for a ride. Thanks!

Independant rear suspension?

If you are suspicious, get a second opinion at another shop. If what they say is broken really is, it does not sound overly expensive. I would avoid dealerships unless the damage is severe - which this does not sound like it is - since their labor will usually be quite a bit more than other shops. After any kind of a collision - major or not - you should get your car checked over by a reputable shop, especially if the other party was at fault.

Snapped glow plug, how do i get it out of a renualt clio?

I would not use just any repair shop. If I do not know the owner or at least one of the mechanics, I would take it to a major dealership. ie. Ford, Dodge etc. Get more than one estimate! Labor rates can run from $40hr to $100hr or more.

98 Ford Mustang GT suspension problems.?

I think that it sounds very reasonable to me.

2006 Honda Element - engine dies?

Depending on what pump needs replaced, and the extent of the repairs needed to correct your high beams, yes, it could cost up to $950, and possibly more. Most shops use a flat rate system to determine the cost of a repair, and its usualy laborXtime=cost. The fact that it is an Infinity surely doesn't help your situation, as parts for this car are likely to be expensive. I would say $950 is reasonable, although you can call around and someone will surely do it cheaper just to get your business.
