You can get new or used beds, just shop for one that's made for (or came off of) your model truck so you don't have to torch & weld.

running on no oil?

On your existing bed, you'll have to remove the gas filler neck, tail light sockets, and bed bolts. Lift the bed off the truck however you can (forlifts, front end loader, crane, come-alongs under a tree, four stout guys, four jacks, etc.) and drive your truck out from under it.

The flat bed goes on in the opposite order. If you buy the flatbed new from a dealer, he will set the bed on the bare frame for you and you can put a couple bolts in real quick to get home. He may even help you run the wires and gas tank filler neck.
