Stalling and hard starting on 99 Expedion?

Question:
When I start the truck the rpm is very low - about 400. The normal is about 700. Unless I rev the engine up upun starting it mostly stalls. At highway speed performance is fine. However at idle stops in drive, nuetral or park - rpm drops and truck stalls. Its getting worse. Soon it wont go at all or start at all.

What color car do you drive? Do you speed?

Since it runs fine at highways speeds I'd say it's NOT a fuel filter or pump. I'd suspect the idle air bypass solenoid.

it sounds like your mass air flow sensor is bad, your computer or otherwise know as an ecm needs to know how much air the motor is sucking so it can make adjustments on the air/fuel mixture. it is located between the air filter box and the throttle plate. i would check the connection,make sure there are no obstructions, and also check for any codes that might be stored in the ecm and go from there
