alernators usually consist of having two bolts; one that the alternator pivots on and one that holds the thing in place which allows you to adjust the tension on the belt. remove the wire connectors, loosen the bolts, remove the alternator, installation is in reverse order but make sure the belt is tight by prying it in position with something that you can get leverage with then tighten the bolts to specified torque if need be, make sure to remove battery connectors from terminals before beginning the job
