I just replaced a bad starter in My 1988 Jeep, but now it just wont turn over. Loose connection?

Sometimes after gettting it started... it will start up no problem. But it is more frequently not starting at all.. It just clicks once when i turn the key. I think it is a loose connection but i have really no idea. How do i figure it out?

It could be a number of issues... First off have the battery tested at a local auto store... If found good take these steps..
First inspect you battery cables.. are they rusty..or frayed?
Second.. insure that your connections are solid follow the wires to their end point... for the postive it will be to your starter and pig tail out to a couple of other areas... I am not sure if you have a seperate starter sylenoid or not.. if you do replace it.
given the year I would alos check the negative cable.. it will ground out on the frame somewhere.. Make sure that it has a good solid connection.
why did you replace your starter?? same problems?? also aer you hearing any odd noises when you have your jeep running??
when you can't start your jeep are you having it jumped?? If so does it start easily?

try jumping across the solenoid if that works it is the solenoid

more than likely it is a bad ground to the starter

clean battery termanals and wires to starter.have battery tested

Sounds like a bad ground. Check all cable connects and make sure they are tight and clean--no corrosion.
