Question:
2001 Ford Focus, automatic. It has been hesitating on acceleration, sputters and stalls at times. Used a code reader and it showed that cylinders 3 and 4 have misfired. Before this, the fuel filter was changed and new spark plugs put in. Lots of different opinions on what could be causing this, but most everyone is confused as to why it would be worse when it is warm/hot out. It is basically undrivable unless it is very cool out. When it is warm, it will stall repeatedly and have difficulty starting back up. After it sits for about 10 minutes, it starts up no problem, but will soon stall again. In cool weather, there is barely a problem. Only slight hesitation accelerating up hills.
How much should it cost to completely restore outside of a car?? Respray plus minor body work?
I'm going to change the plug wires today, but I have my doubts that this will do any good.
2002 s-10 LS 4X4 extended cab blowing warm to hot air even though its turned off.?
Any ideas on the warm/cool influence? BTW, the only codes that came up were for the misfiring in those two cylinders. Thanks!

Another alignment or sign of something else?
Since misfire occurs in two cylinders only, the problem is unlikely of a general kind like somebody suggested with MAF sensor which affects operation of all cylinders.Replacing wires never hurts but the problem stays - and it likely will stay - I would check fuel infectors. They tend to go bad when it's hot, and internal wiring shorts. The easiest way is to switch them and see if mifire follows.
Where to find interior light fuse in a 1992 saturn?
mass air flow sensor, just had the same issue with a ford explorer. to check it, when the vehicle starts to act up unplug the sensor, if it runs better it is the mass air flow sensor.if not the problem check the coolant temp sensor, NOT the one for the gauge (one wire connector) but the one for the computer(two or more wire). but 90% sure it is the mass air flow sensor.More Questions & Answers ...
