Changing your coolant won't make any difference because the aircon actually cools the heat from the coolant to the desired temperature using a refridgerant as it passes into the vehicle.
Whilst you're using your aircon, set the blower to RECIRC so that no air comes in from outside. Then this way, the air will cool quicker and the aircon won't have work anywhere near as hard because it is using the air that it has already cooled.

I will add that it does sound as though you need to have your aircon recharged. The refridgerant is probably running low.

If you do have air conditioning in your car have you actually turned it on. There will be a separate switch or knob to do this. I had the same problem because I saw lights showing on the heater/cooler unit I assumed that it meant that the A/C was on. In fact there was an additional push button to bring on the A/C and all worked well. The engine cooling is nothing to do with the A/C.Hope this works as it will be cheaper than paying for a repair. Check the handbook.

Hi Evander -It has nothing to do with your engine coolant.
Your A/C system has a maybe prob.
First thing is to get the system charged up with stuff called freon gas, from a 9 series bottle. Should be green.
Then they should check for any leaks.
Often a small pipe or joint leak can "knacker" the system
I am used to big air-con units, so it seems that the system is not getting enough flow of the needful.
Assuming that the fan unit is blowing across the evaporator, and the compressor, driven by a belt is not squeaking & misbehaving, all should be well.
Dear me - I thought that I had dissapeared from all these air-con things !
