Question:
my brother wanted me to move his car for him because he hasnt passed his test yet. But when i went to pull off the car stallled and wouldnt start again. He now thinks i damaged his starter motor and wants me to replace it. Do you think i could have caused the starter motor to fail just by stalling it once?

How do you adjust the headlights on a 1998 gmc yukon?
How long were you cranking the ignition before it turned over? Did you keep cranking it after it was already running? If not, then no way are you responsible. It sounds to me, from the little bit of description that's available, that it's not the starter at all but rather the battery or possibly the alternator. What is happening now? What will it do and what will it not do?There are many other reasons for a car to stall other then the starter burning out. There could be a faulty belt, broken air hose, low fluid level, the list goes on and on. Why don't you have a mechanic go take a look at it and have him tell you whether the starter is broken or not
If i have standard and its hard to put in gear what could it be?
Stalling a car Definitely does not stuff the stater motor upMore Questions & Answers ...
