Question:
Hi, my friend is having a problem with her car. She has a 2006 Mercury Milan. It's the "fully loaded" version if that makes a difference as far as security systems goes... Anyway, something happened - she tried to start her car, but it wouldn't let her. She said there's a light flashing and she looked it up in the manual and it means that there's something wrong with the "Anti security device" and that the only way to fix it is to take it to the dealer. She's having it towed, but she was wondering if anyone here knew what was wrong. The dealer said that they didn't know (she called them) and the service department isn't open until tomorrow. She hasn't had any problems with it, other than this. I guess she went to start it, it wouldn't start, she noticed that this little light was flashing, and then looked it up and found out what it means. Does anyone have any idea what this is, and/or how it will be fixed? Thanks SOOOO MUCH! I'll give the first helpful answer a total of 11 points!

What should i do if my car breaks down and i don't want to call my dad?
There are a couple of things that could be wrong. First thing to check would be to see if a different key works. Your friend should have received at least 2 keys for the car. With the keyless entry remote, lock the car and then wait 1 minute for the security system to set and then unlock the car. With the other key attempt to start the car. Make sure that both keys are not near each other when doing this. If it starts, woo hoo!! Try the other key again. If it does not start then have the dealership reprogram the key to the security ecu. Each key has a chip in it that sends a signal to a receiver in the ignition switch to tell the car it can start. If the security system does not see this signal or recognize the key's signal the car will not start and the security light will flash. Good Luck!! I hope this helps.how hard is it to put on a l outer tie rod on 1996 chevy lumina the car?
Means there is a fault in the security system. Ford has been plagued with issues like these recently. Nothing that your friend did wrong, just make sure she gets the repairs done under warranty (free) and that Ford pays for her rental as well.I had a 2005 GMC Sierra come into my shop with the same problem, turned out (after) we had to reset the codes for the security system, the driver window started binding, so we popped the door pannel off and found a slimjim at the bottom of the door wedged into the track. Turned out, someone tried breaking into the truck, activating the security system, making it "unstealable". I don't know if the same goes for Ford, but that would be my guess, either there was a internal fault or there was an attempted break in. Like I said, That was a GM and I'm not sure how the Ford security system works.
Having problems starting car. What is wrong?
You can try moving the steering wheel to one side and the other, I had a car that locked itself with the steering wheel. Try that and see what happens. Good luck. How do I remove the starter motor from a '79 Fiat?
Hi I wish there was an easy answer for you and your friend .. By pushing the buttons on your clicker in a certain pattern. this can change the program of the alarm system. Often done by accident. ( We have people call their children were playing with the clicker .). Its a matter of hit and miss or luck , but it can happen .. The car is new there should be a owners manual or book on the alarm.. If so see if you can reset the alarm .. And then follow instructions from there, and reprogram it as per instructions ..Or put it in valet mode .. It sounds like the starter over ride is engaged .. good luck ..More Questions & Answers ...
