My car won't start, but my lights, radio, heat, etc is fine (except they're a little dim)?

Question:
I have a '93 cavilier that I've had for 3 yrs. Just changed starter 5 mos. ago and got car checked out 2.5 mos ago. No other problems. I noticed that after waiting about 10 mins my car would start up a little but not all the way. The ABS light was on, and the lights on the panel were a little dim. Also my blinkers wouldn't work. I'm off at college on my own for the first time, and I'm trying to solve my own problem b4 calling my parents. I know Jesus was watching over me because my car broke down in front of AutoZone but they were closed, so I will take the long hike there in the morning. Hopefully I'll get some answers b4 then to better prepare myself for what's wrong with my car. I have never done anything with battery except maybe jumped it a few times recently ( I forgot to turn the lights off). Could the battery be the problem? Maybe the alternator? Thanks in advance!

Spark plugs; how often?

It could be a few things, but I wouldn't worry yourself. Most likely it is the battery. Auto Zone will test it for free. Then, you can grab yourself a new one and be on your way. Good Luck and God Bless!

if the car is at autozone, let them do a test of the battery system. sounds like the battery is puking. they only last about 5 yrs or less depending on quality. bout $50 buck fix for a cavalier.

you might just have a drained battery as well, once started and running for a bit, the alternator will recharge the battery.

Hear a click when you turn the key? Starter solinoid might be problem? That should be fairly inexpensive to fix.

Why is my Check engine light comes on while driving? I own a Honda Civic ESi 95?

I would look for a bare wire touching the frame this will cause you to lose power in the alternator, thus draining your battery. Did you know that the ABS light is made to come on when your alternator is weak. GM does this for people as a red flag to get your breaks fixed. when in all reality its just to keep you from breaking down...

Which way should I place my hood scoop?

Your battery is cactus. Once they have been truly flat a couple of times (you have jump started it) they have had it. Get a new one is the only cure. The fact that it lasted three years is good, depending on the climate they last two to four years, five if you are really lucky and/or live in a cold climate.
