Question:
i put a new quadrajet carb, the car didnt run good before but i got the carb. then when i replaced it and set the timing it ran pretty good. then i floored it going down the road and the exhaut stuck. i got tit home and started it the next day and it ran horrible. now it is running but but real rich, kicking black smoke out and idling horible.i need pointed in the right direction.i need a diagram on everything that is suppose to go on the carb. because the person i baught it from removed the smog pump so now i got lines and wires running everywere that i dont know what they are. i also have vacuum ports on the carb. that i dont know what properly goes were, it is a mess. i need help bad.

plug all vacuums leaks reset the auto choke for it opens in a hurry then put vacuum lines only on the ones that make it run better. trial and error is the best way when you been dealt this type of hand
