the price depends on the paint and how much work the shop has to do to prime it . im assuming that bumpers lights moldings and such are pulled off. you are going to want a good catylized primer. the reason is. is it seals the surface of the metal. u will need an etch primer also. a gallon of primer which is plenty to do a car with harder and reducers is about 100-200 bucks. these primers are thick so you want 3,4,5 coats. this way you can block out any little defects in the body. a catylized primer also protects the metal from the elements so water doesnt touch the metal and start to rust. a shop can charge up too 800 to 1000 to prime a car some 200 depends on the primer and the labor of dismantling. if your going threw the truoble of priming your car have them do ALL the body work before priming. alot of shops will put body fillers over primer this is not good what can happen and 90% will is that all body fillers shrink over time and get hard. if the bosy filler is put on top of the primer and not allowed to dry in the proper time (24 hours a rule of thumb depending on how thick its put on and how much harder is in it (too much harder it wont dry all the way)) it will heat up in the sun (even 1 year later) and shrink and it will pull the primer off the skin you primed
