What would cause my 87 toyotato shut down, and get it overheating?

Question:
just had it to come from the shop, for a head gasket

Answers:

Can anyone tell me what other cars have the same lug nut pattern as FWD Oldsmobile?

i own a repair shop ,and someone didn't do there job very well, because if it just came from the shop for this problem this can only mean someone didn't have the head trued up on it or didn't use new head bolts in it,either way looks like it will be going back, this time id tell them to do there job right ,good luck hope this helps.

How do I remove marks on the paint from a rear spoiler?

i'll call that a problem. with insuffiecient detail.
My first guess of overheating would be Bad radiator or Coolant leak.

Car alternator question...?

take it back to the shop they should have checked the cooling system after installing the headgasket

Is it possible and recommended for me to change brake pads in my car?

if you just had that type of repair done...they must not have tested their work...they should have had it up to full operating temperature....& then checked everything..before releasing the car back to you....take it back & tell them to do it right...don,t let them charge for anything related to the original problem.
