Lots of thin coats with lacquer, need to wet sand and rub it out. Better for amateurs. Can't be applied over enamelOne thicker coat, requires a catalyst to harden completely. More susceptible to dust, runs etc.
Laquer is mixed with thinner and applied in lots of thin coats, and requires sanding between coats. It also needs to be color sanded and polished no matter how good you are with a spray gun. After that look forward to a lot of waxing, and polishing it every couple of years until you wear through the paint. It gets dull quickly without constant care.
Enamel has to be mixed with reducer and hardener, and if you spray laquer onto it, it lifts. After you mix it it must be used immediately because it will hadren like epoxy by morning. It usually dries very shiny and if you don't get drips or dust you may not even have to sand or polish it. Also it requires less maintenence to keep a shine.
