Misfire on 5th Valve 2001Cougar V6 2.5L DOHC?

Question:
Misfire on 5th Valve 2001Cougar V6 DOHC

The car I'm about to buy has a small exhaust leak, should I buy it?

My check engine light is on and the vehicle & is misfiring on the 5th valve. I had my brother hook my car up to the computer and the code it was throwing was a misfire on valve 5. I have a 2001 mercury Cougar V6 Sport DOHC with 63400 miles on the car. I have always completed the scheduled maintenance on the car. I will be replacing the Spark plugs and wires with OEM parts. I use good gas 89 Octane Chevron, I also use redline fuel injector cleaner. I did pull the spark plug out and it looks like it was running lean. I had cleaned the plug and put it back in the car. We rest the computer and the check engine came back on again after 50 miles. The wires look ok but not to sure how to tell indefinitely with the wires besides replacing them. I need more direction with this if it isn’t plugs and wires. I was told it could be the coil pack also. This is not covered by warranty. Any Help would be appreciated. The system is a DST system not cap and roo

My car horn only works some of the time - any ideas?

this is an easy diagnosis. first if ur running lean it could be a fuel injector for that cylinder. you need an injector balance tester for that. So lets dig into the coil it is most likely that anyways. simply swap number 5 coild pack with another cylinder and see if the cylinder you swapped it too misfires. if so then you know its your coil. if you dont have individual coils thats ok just swap coils from one pack to the other side of the module. generaly one coil pack will have 2 terminals on the secondary side and will fire 2 opposite cylinders according to your firing order.

i have a 1979 chevy camaro and the carb caught fire is it bad to drive it?

This is why I hate new cars My advise is take it to the shop or dealer to have them inspect it cause it could be more then the problem you think it is I dont have these problems with my car I have a 1977 Lincoln continental The problem with new cars is that the factories make them so that you can't fix them like you could with old school cars They may sell them at a low price but when it comes to problems such as yours it takes the dealer or a shop that specializes in that particular brand of car to fix it and that is how they get the rest of their money out of you

have a saturn 2000 sl2 that died while driving and wont restart?

change the coil pack referring(corresponding) to the cylinder misfiring.
