we have a 1985 dodge 600 turbo. it wont start. it just cranks. it is not the starter, and the belt is ok too.

Can i replace the rack and pinion myself?
You need to check that you're getting a spark at the spark plugs, and that the system is getting fuel. I'm not sure if that engine has a carburetor or not-- with a carb you can work the throttle by hand with the air cleaner off and see if you can see jets of fuel or fuel vapor coming out of the carburetor throat.maybe its the gas you are using.
Check your ICM. (ignition control module) and your coil! Make sure you have spark. Check for fuel supply (Fuel pump and fuel filter) and make sure you have no air obstructions. It has to be one of the above or the engine should run!
I would say its spark or fuel related.
