How easy or difficult a job is it to replace the idler pulley for a 1995 Saab 900 SE Turbo?

Question:
I just picked up a 95 Saab 900 SE Turbo, 5-speed, 96k miles for a really good deal. It seems to be running fine, so far, except for a not loud, but noticeable, whinning sound coming from engine compartment. After doing some resarch online I have been pointed in the direction of the idler or tension pulleys for the serpentine drive belt as the probable culprit. Does anyone with any Saab experience think that this is the problem? How hard is it to replace myself?

Answers:

i have white scuff on my black car. any suggestions on removing it?

Easy peasy,

Why won't a store-bought battery work in a 2005 VW Jetta?

Take the engine cover and auxillery belt off. Undo the pulley.
