Car Problems?

a neon should only take a quart or two. the price of auto paint has skyrocketed and with the proper mixture you shouldn't need anymore than that. We just finished painting a motor home with less than two quarts of each color we used. the object of basecoat clearcoat is to use as little paint as possible but still get a dazzling paint job.

Did my car blow it's engine?

i would use one gallon you can get alot of coats laid down for a nice paint job then it with clear coat this wont be that 250 paint job that some of those quick turn around paint houses
the best thing is to have you car prep real good before priming it and prepping for paint most paint jobs done with out much prep comes out like caca
so clean the body real good and spray the paint with good strokes across the entire area (its all in the wrist )
i so would use that gallon paint and get as many coverage until i was happy with the paint
then after drying do some wet sanding take any orange peel out if any accured

How to start a car thats been stored for 6 years?

ok wow seems like theres alot of wanna be painters on tonight. firat off DAVID Z the automotive industry uses quarts or liters. no one grabs 1000 oz of paint i would really like to see you order paint from the distibutor that way.
second off rule of thumb small car 2-3 quarts.but thios depends on if ur jamming everything and if u have a tinted sealer or primer down.
ok here is the facts some colors dont cover this is becuase theres too much binder (which is a clear liquid and joins all the toners, pearls and metallics together) u need some sort of a nud/base color down thats claose to the color ur spraying in this case.
if u are painting a black neon to white u will use more paint.
now then idont know and know one here knows what the paint code is u want so this is my advise goto the automotive paint distibutor ask if u can talk to a tech (reps are alot different) show them or tell them the color u want on ur car. now he talks too all the shops in ur area and he will be able too tell u jsut how much paint is neededand if theres any extra process.
good example if you want a candy you need hmm 3 sprayable quarts of some base be it silver gold or a flat color then 1 qurt (not sprayable) should easily cover your car. so now your talking about 1 gallon of paint

VW Bora Problem "Alternator Workshop!"?

and back to david z
automotive paint is sold in quarts gallons 5gallons (even 55 gallon drums) and liters from the paint distributor and if u use 1 pint of paint the body shop charges for a quart.
