Question:
Last night some fool scratched the heck out of my trans-am hood. The car is sitting in my parking lot and waiting to be restored. Which won't happen until next summer.
The hood is starting to rust. What can I do to prevent the rest of the hood from rusting?
Where can i get custom floor mats for my car?
I was thinking about sanding down the rusty part and spraying prime on the hood. Any other ideas?
I can't have it repainted. Theres no motor to move it. I just need a quick fix so the hood doesn't rust.
Answers:
What is the name of the front mirror inside the car?
You can do as you said and sand the rusty areas and prime them however most rattle can primers will not really do the job properly and the rust will return. There are some rust "killer" products on the market that you simply brush on, they turn black when they come in contact with rust, and form a protective barrier to prevent the rust from spreading. Go to any good auto parts store and ask the clerk what they have in the wayt of that product. Why does my truck have a rough idle?
paint scratched areas with rust reformer then give a coat of primer.More Questions & Answers ...
