Question:
My horn on my car does not work. It makes a squeaky sound though. What's wrong with it? Is it broken, clogged, bent?
Answers:
What's causing the noise when I cold start my engine?
It is not your fuse, because your horn still works. just not properly. Your horn may not work because it is jammed. If you were in an accident it could have easily been jammed. I doubt there is anything clogged into the horn. My tip to you is to replace it. Hi,if your car is older the horn might be on it's way out or you have washed your car and got it very wet. If you can get to your horn pull 1 clip off and run a lead wire to it and touch the positive termital with it, it should blow, if not it may need to be replaced. If it makes no noise check the fuse first.
So when you press the horn it only makes a slight noise? If that is the case you need a new horn, because the old one is corroded. It shouldn't be that much to replace.

Horns are cheap; buy a new one and use the old wiring if it is still in good shape. Some cars use a horn relay. What kind of car are you talking about? You could try removing the horn button and horn ring from the steering wheel to see if all connections are clean and tight. Sometimes the horn button will get corroded contacts.
