Oil change in dealer or not?

Question:
have a 2002 Nissan Pahtfinder with low mile (37,000). I usually go to the dealer for oil change. Now the basic warranty expired. but some other warranty like power train is in effect. Should i go to auto shops for oil change and maybe other major maintenance jobs down the road or stick with the dealer? Going to auto shop instead of dealer will definitely save money, but how about the quality of the work at auto shops compared to dealers, will it compromise my other warranties?

There's not much to changing oil, and I'd honestly say the quality of work would (usually) go up from a dealership to a private company.

How can I get the fog out of my headlights?

I think you should do it yourself. For starters, you save a little money, secondly - you know that you are doing it right.
If you decide to do your own oil changes, just keep a log of mileage when you change your oil that way your warranty will not be voided for any reason.
I have a hard time trusting any vehicle to places... My cousin had a truck that the oil was changed at a place like your talking about... Turned out they didn't put the oil cap back on and talk about a mess...yikes.

Tire sizes?

Think about the time spent to do this yourself, what to do with the waste oil because of environmental concerns and your time to to put away the dirty oil pan and to clean up after wards. My new GM car dealer charges less than $25 for the oil, oil filter and all related environmental fees and taxes and I can return to any GM dealer in the good old USA if there is a problem.
