Question:
I have an 86 c10 1/2 ton truck. The 4th tranny just went out. I have a 78 GMC that contain a working 4 speed standard transmission. The 86 has already been stripped of computer went engine was rebuilt because it is used as a farm truck. The standard in the other truck was a conversion also but I didn't do it, a mechanic friend of my father's did it. The tranny still works, most likely will need a new clutch due to sitting for long time but other wise works.
What I need to know is where to get info on how to convert or if someone know please contact me. The engine in both trucks is a 305, the orginal automatic was a 700r4 and is now a thm350.
Car starting troubles... 96 mustang v-6 what is it?
As stated before it is a farm truck so I do not mind making parts or holes for parts but I wanna do it right so it works.
Thanks,
how do u get a stripped allen head bolt out.?

ok ken it can be done fairly easy.. you need clutch, brake pedal assembly from a 83 thru 89 gm pickup and a flywheel from a 350 manual shift and clutch linkage and a drive line from a manual half ton gm product and cross member and a sawzall to cut hole in tranny hump for shifter everything else will fall into place sine gm and all trucks for that matter where made for either tranny they have the holes pre drilled in frame and in cab all you do is remove old brake pedal and remount clutch brake assembly it will bolt right up remove auto trans and flywheel replace flywheel with manual flywheel insert pilot bearing put clutch on flywheel alighn clutch pack install manual trans and bell housing to motor alighning jack shaft to clutch bolt up bell housing to motor install crossmember and insert new two piece drive shaft with carrier bearing .. but remember some years came with one piece driveshaft hope yours does too... after cutting hole in floor install shifter through hole in tranny and buy a 15.00 dollar shifter boot.. adjust clutch and presto you did it.. takes about two days by yourself if you have all the parts first...... but i would recommend you trash the th350 and buy a th400 tranny and have it rebuilt with a heavy duty kit in it and bolt it up alot less headache and alot faster to do then convert one to manual...i wouldn't recommend it, automatic to manual conversions are a nightmare, i tried to help a friend do it once, he gave up after a couple months
