Mazda truck 2003 B3000 - engine noise?

Question:
When I accelerate the engine makes a whisling noise. It doesn't sound like a belt but more like a small hole in one of the hoses. The truck has lost power as well. Has anyone run into this problem? There is only 60000 kms on the truck and is taken in for regular oil changes and maintenance.
