You probably have a defective FLASHER or bad bulb. Try turning on the emergency flashers and then walk around the van. You should be able to compare the left side bulbs to the right side. If a bulb is not lighting or flashing differently than the one on the other side, you need to inspect that bulb. If all the bulbs are flashing and nothing abnormal, listen to the CLICKING inside the vehicle. That will be the emergency flasher. Now, (with the key in the run position) put on left or right turn signal. If neither side flashes, replace the flasher. (It should be near the emergency flasher). If only one side flashes (make sure you look at the bulbs OUTSIDE the car),
it could still be the flasher. Worst case, the turn signal switch on the steering column is defective. DO NOT attempt to repair this your self. Special tools are needed and you may also have to deal with the AIR BAG! Without meaning to, you could set it off and get hurt!

There is a fuse for the directionals, look in your manual. The "flasher" itself may have gone bad, no big deal. If you can't find where they are located, just drive to a NAPA store; one of those guys will do everything while you watch. That way you also get to see where everything is.
