Sound when foot is on gas?

Question:
There's a sound coming from my car when I put my foot on the gas. It sounds like something is being dragged, but nothing is. The sound is coming from underneath me, not near the engine up front. I'm thinking it could be the exhaust system, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
