1999 Chevy Mailbu temp gauge maxed out in 10 seconds, pulled over, antifreeze leaking, restarted no problem?
Chances are my friend that there are a few valve springs that have snapped and/or the actual valve sterms themselves have broken at the base of the shaft. If so (without looking at it first hand) I'd start looking at another car as the cost of having that fixed would easily go over the $1000.00 mark. If you are partial to buicks then look for one with a 3.8 litre motor or another good bet would be a 90's Chev Corsica/ Lumina with a 3.1 litre. I've owned a '91 Chev Lumina 4 door since new (the ol' lady's car) and there's over 370 thousand kilometers on it and all i've done to it was put new pistons, an efi (electronic fuel injector) unit and beefed up the rear suspension (we tow an 18 foot Prowler camper with it to Sturgis South Dakota twice a year).
