If it's a front wheel drive car, just replace the axle. You can do it yourself. Axles cost around $60 - 70 new. If its rear wheel drive, than you have a spindle. Replace it. Spindles will cost a little more, maybe around $100. Do it yourself or pay some bozo $300-$350.
